What's in a Name?
The Hunt Continues: We are all looking for something, right? The original inhabitants of the land now known as Steamboat Springs were the Yampatikas Utes. They were light and fast scouts who found the area ideal for summer hunting. Then came the French fur trappers seeking the finest pelt, ranchers came looking for greener pastures, and lastly the mining boom hit towards the end of the 1800's. Now they say the only scout left is he who seeks stashes of untracked powder, hidden in places we dare not say.
