The R-Value rating on a sleeping pad gives guidance to the insulation value of any given sleeping pad. This rating is tested by a third party and is an industry standard. The lower numbered R-Value sleeping pads are ideal for warm weather camping. The higher the number, the more likely the pad will keep you warm as the temps drop.
